Photoshop for Forensic Video Analysis

Course Overview:

This four-day online workshop is limited to a maximum of 20 students. The course begins with an introduction to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge, developing best practices, and then using this tool in a Forensic Video Analysis workflow including initial analysis, clarification, on-screen comparison techniques, and creating demonstrative evidence exhibits. Exercises will include working with still images and working directly with video files with Adobe Photoshop.

Throughout the entire workshop, recommended best practices will be used and non-destructive processes employed whenever possible.

Prerequisites:

LEVA membership is not required to attend training classes.

Instructor:

George Reis provides training and consulting services in forensic photography, photographic and video analysis through his company, Imaging Forensics. He worked for the Newport Beach Police Department from 1989 through 2004 as a Forensic Photographer and Crime Scene Investigator and introduced that agency to digital imaging in 1992. He is an established author and globally recognized expert on Photoshop. George is certified in Forensic Video Analysis through LEVA, is a member of the certification committee in Forensic Photography and Imaging with the IAI, and is on the editorial review board for the Journal of Forensic Identification.

Software and Equipment:

A laptop with software installation rights. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge pre-installed (a 7-day complimentary demo is available from adobe.com.)

Credits and Certificate:

Graduates of the course receive a LEVA certificate indicating successful completion of the 32-hour curriculum. That certificate should NOT be interpreted as a certification of any type. Registering for any LEVA class indicates they fully understand they are not receiving certification from any one LEVA course and must refer to this training as LEVA’s on their resume, CV, or any discoverable document. This class is not conducted to officially endorse any product or service.
