Data Visualization: Crafting Powerful, Evidence-Based Demonstratives

Course Overview:

Media evidence now comes from an unprecedented variety of sources – surveillance systems, pole cameras, body worn cameras, in-car video, audio communications, drone and aerial footage, cell phone data, social media posts as well as various types of geolocation data. There may be times when one incident contains almost every one of those sources of evidence.

This 5-day online intensive workshop guides legal professionals and forensic specialists through the complete process of building a powerful evidence-based, geospatial demonstrative video that incorporates a variety of media evidence from a variety of disparate sources using Premiere Pro as the primary tool, supported by After Effects, Illustrator, and other professional applications.

Students will work with a single case study throughout the week, learning to transform complex evidence into clear, compelling visual narratives from start (project kick off) to finish (final output and delivery).
