Overworked and Underpaid! I think I like that one the best! And it certainly fits my job description!

Thanks to everyone for your input - I'll pass your unit names along to my supervisors. I think Video is still a valid name for a unit - analog or digital, it is still video. It's also amazing at how diverse our jobs and units have become, covering everything from crime scenes, surveillance, training, forensics, in-car camera, interview rooms, and more!

At the Bristol County DA my unit is the Technical Operations - Forensic and demonstrative Unit. Everything audio/visual related comes through here both for investigations as well as trial prep.

From a UK perspective, police forces call their units one of the following normally-

Imaging Unit (tends to mix photographers with the video analysts)

Technical Support Unit (includes analysts as well as covert installers for example)

AV unit (does what its says on the tin.

We are called the "Digital and Multimedia Evidence Unit" or DMEU for short here in Baltimore County, MD.
